Economic Reporting Director

Purpose of Job

The job holder is responsible for managing Economic Reporting function including economic analyses of data and information, and reporting of results to concerned internal and external government and non-government entities to enable policy design, planning and decision-making.

Job Resposiblites

Strategy and Planning

• Contribute to the development of Tax & Customs Studies business plan ensuring alignment with ZATCA strategy
• Develop the operational plan for Economic Reporting in line with Tax & Customs Studies business plan and Strategy & Development strategic plan
• Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Economic Reporting goals that support ZATCA’s overall strategic plans
  
  
  

Budget Management

• Discuss Economic Reporting budgeting requirements with top management and provide input to the budgeting process
• Ensure effective utilization of Economic Reporting budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
• Investigate and propose implementing initiatives that result in positive financial impact for Economic Reporting and mitigates financial and operational risks
  
  
  

Economic Analyses and Reporting

• Manage analyses of information and data received from relevant functions ensuring various models and tools are used
• Manage tax gap calculation and ensure results are accurately and timely communicated to relevant stakeholders for planning and decision-making
• Manage bottom up and top-down baseline forecast for all tax types and zakat
• Ensure that reporting framework and design is in line with business requirements of concerned stakeholders
• Submit accurate and timely reports presenting economic analyses and ensure updates are executed based on input of relevant stakeholders
• Submit needed data, baseline forecast and reports to the Ministry of Finance for better budget planning
• Facilitate exchange of economic data with relevant government and non-government entities and submit joint reports when required
• Submit accurate and timely annual and sector specific reports for more informed policy design (i.e., export incentive structure)

• Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
• Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
• Develop individual performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate/appraise team and provide regular feedback on performance

Eductaion

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in related field is preferred
  
  
  

Experience

A minimum of 6 years of experience
