Job title: Director, Talent Management and Engagement

  • JOB PURPOSE

The Director, Talent Management and Engagement is responsible for driving the strategic and operational delivery of the organization’s performance management and employee engagement programs. This role oversees the end-to-end annual performance appraisal process, manages engagement initiatives, and ensures alignment with the organization’s overall talent strategy and business objectives. The position focuses on implementing effective frameworks, monitoring outcomes, and continuously enhancing practices to strengthen organizational culture, employee experience, and workforce performance.

Key Accountabilities

Performance Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the annual performance appraisal cycle, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, timelines, and strategic objectives.
  • Manage the operational aspects of the performance review process, including system configuration, communications, manager and employee training, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure performance ratings, feedback, and development plans are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Monitor compliance with performance management policies and proactively address process gaps or delays.
  • Analyze performance data and provide reports and insights to leadership to support talent decisions, promotions, and succession planning.

Employee Engagement

  • Oversee the operational delivery of employee engagement surveys, including coordination on survey design, communications, deployment, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Partner with departments to develop, implement, and track action plans in response to engagement survey results.
  • Drive the execution of engagement programs and initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, collaboration, and employee morale.
  • Monitor engagement KPIs and deliver regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

Process & System Management

  • Ensure HR technology and systems supporting performance management and engagement are fully optimized, efficient, and user-friendly.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve system issues, enhance functionality, and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation, guidelines, and training materials to ensure consistent delivery of performance and engagement programs.
