Job Purpose
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.
Job Accountabilities
The job holder is responsible for developing and leading a culture of business developing throughout the company to grow and lead the non-BAE Systems related business. The job holder will implement the company’s strategy for business growth and be the primary interface with customers.

Attributes.
- The role holder requires keen powers of persuasion, influencing and negotiating skills which can be employed both internally and externally. Requirement to interface with senior personnel across the business including up to MD level.
- Ability to lead and influence at all levels.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills (both verbal and literacy) and the ability to create robust internal / external relationships at all levels and to positively contribute to a team environment
- The nature of the job requires that the job holder will need to be a self – starter. Many issues will be diverse. Decisions and problem solving will not necessarily be referred upwards. Must be capable of making decisions using clear judgement and experience.
- Must have strong people management skills to ensure successful delivery of professional support and people development
- Degree or equivalent in Business
- Experience working competitive Business Development, Business Winning, proposals and competitive campaigns preferably in the training or technical domains.
- Experience with proposals and campaigns in excess of SAR 50m.
- Experience in a dynamic business environment.
- Knowledge of the academic program accreditation procedures a strong plus.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working programs and competitive proposals / captures.
- Full understanding of business winning processes.
- Must have good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all functional areas required to deliver a compliant bid: Engineering, Estimating, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Quality, and Project Management & Operations.
- Have a good understanding of all functional areas and their responsibilities in delivering new business and supporting campaigns in order to be able to assess interdependencies, effectively challenge performance and progress cross-functional team integration.
- Manage resources and stakeholders within the direct control of the prospects and campaigns, and more importantly those of the wider business that will need to provide support to ensure prospects/campaign success.
- The key responsibilities of the role cover a very diverse and broad range of strategic campaign related activities. This brings a challenging requirement to balance priorities across a large pool of stakeholders on an ongoing basis, whilst ensuring campaign timescales are not compromised. This diversity of high-level objectives requires the ability to be versatile and decisive across numerous subjects at any one time, to maximise output across the range of internal/external customers on behalf of all prospects / campaigns.
- As well as being a leader, the role holder will need to be an excellent team player and will need to quickly develop strong relationships in order to understand the roles of all stakeholders and their involvement, participation and contribution.
- Role requires the need to address and resolve many issues without escalation. Resolution should typically involve team discussion.
- Due to the significant complexity of campaigns which are often worked jointly with other Business Units the need to bridge the gap including differences in culture, procedures, processes and capabilities will require the role holder to have exceptional interpersonal skills across all areas.
- Early capture / campaign management requires excellent interpersonal skills to ensure compliancy and bid team, project and wider business agreement and buy-in. Tact and diplomacy are key skills
