Job Description:

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Design Director to lead the design vision for key aspects of The Line. You will play a critical role in shaping the unique character and identity of this groundbreaking city, ensuring that every element, from public spaces and infrastructure to residential and commercial developments, reflects the highest standards of design excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the overall design vision and strategy for key areas of The Line. This may include, but is not limited to, residential districts, commercial centers, cultural hubs, and public spaces.

  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, urban planners, landscape architects, and engineers to ensure the seamless integration of design across all scales.

  • Oversee the design process from concept to completion, providing creative direction, design reviews, and quality control.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and international design partners.

  • Champion innovative design solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities presented by The Line, such as sustainability, livability, and social equity.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in architecture, urban design, and related fields.

  • Contribute to the development of design guidelines and standards for The Line.

  • Mentor and guide junior design staff.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.

  • Minimum 25 years of professional experience in architecture or urban design, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large-scale, complex design projects.

  • Strong conceptual and design skills, with a portfolio that showcases innovative and impactful work.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and technologies.

  • Experience working on international projects is a plus.

  • Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are a plus.
