Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented GIS Specialist to join our team in NEOM. Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.
Responsibilities:
Utilize advanced GIS software and tools to create, manipulate, analyze, and visualize spatial data.
Perform data collection, integration, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of GIS databases.
Develop and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Conduct spatial analysis and generate reports, maps, and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify GIS requirements and provide technical expertise for project planning and implementation.
Assist in the development and implementation of GIS protocols, standards, and best practices.
Stay up to date with advancements in GIS technology and tools, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance workflows and efficiency.
Provide training and support to team members on GIS software and methodologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a GIS Specialist or similar role.
Strong proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
Extensive knowledge of GIS principles, data management, spatial analysis, and cartographic principles.
Proficiency in data manipulation, geoprocessing, and spatial modeling.
Experience with database management, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and meet project deadlines.
