Data Governance Director

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for managing Specialized’s data governance operations, including data architecture, policies, compliance, and lifecycle frameworks to ensure secure and effective data usage. He/She ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, alignment with STC Group data standards, and drives data transparency and quality across the organization. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Key Functional Accountability

• Designs and maintains Specialized’s enterprise data architecture in alignment with business objectives and Group
• wide data management standards.
• Defines and tracks KPIs for NDMO and PDPL domain maturity in coordination with leadership to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Develops and enforces the Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework, including associated policies, controls, and technologies.
• Implements organization-wide data policies and governance guidelines in compliance with Group Technology Unit directives.
• Maintains a centralized repository for data management policies and procedures to ensure transparency and accessibility.
• Establishes and governs a data classification and lifecycle management framework to oversee retention, archival, and secure data disposal. -Leads the end-to-end execution of open data management processes including identification, preparation, and publication of datasets.
• Supervises the quality review and update cycles of published open data and associated metadata to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Monitors open data initiatives to ensure compliance with national data classification and privacy regulations.
• Implements data privacy controls to safeguard public data access and maintain legal conformity.
• Aligns open data publication priorities with internal stakeholders to meet transparency goals and maximize data value.
• Supervises planning and delivery of internal awareness programs focused on data governance and open data usage.
• Partners with the Data Governance Council to design and promote open data literacy campaigns across Specialized.
• Drives continuous improvement in Specialized’s data governance ecosystem by incorporating global best practices and regulatory insights.
