Job Description
AESG are currently recruiting a Cost Manager to join our cost management team to work on a one year project in Khobar, KSA. The role will primarily be post-contract based.
As a Cost Manager, you will support project leader in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our client, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
The successful candidate will have experience working as part of a dedicated consultancy team delivering successful cost management services on major projects. The role will offer significant opportunity for progression and career development. You will need to demonstrate relevant and recent experience with appropriately sized projects as well as the ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors. The ideal candidate will have a technical and experience-based QS background, a solid understanding of numerous design standards, and the ability to communicate advice appropriately and effectively. MRICS achievement or aspiration is preferred but not necessarily mandatory for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow during construction
- Evaluate and certify interim valuations and contractor payments
- Assess variations, claims, and change orders with detailed justifications
- Lead post-contract cost reporting and maintain accurate cost records
- Administer the contract in accordance with its terms (FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or equivalent)
- Prepare cost-to-complete reports, final accounts, and project financial closeout
- Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations when required
- Provide commercial advice to internal teams and clients on cost impacts and risks
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met
- Assist in preparing and updating risk registers and cost reports
- BSc, BTech or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Contracts-related field
- Minimum 10+ years of working experience.
- Experience in delivering high quality cost management / quantity surveying services.
- Previous technical delivery experience gained within a global consultancy firm is preferred.
- Middle East experience preferred.
- Experience or exposure to regional projects is an advantage.
- Advanced utilisation and application of Microsoft excel for the creation of cost models.
- Utilising digital software for delivery of cost management services.
- Working towards a professional qualification (RICS or similar).
- Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
- Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
- A team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
