Cost Engineer

Duties:

Job Purpose:

Perform effective and accurate cost controlling and cost reporting of Sadara’s capital projects.

Functional Duties:

-Forecast job costs and manage the projects’ change order registers, monitoring cost risks and provide all detailed information for capitalization of capital projects.

-Promote Cost Management work process, discipline, knowledge exchange and quality.

-Support the Project Manager / Project Engineer in all questions regarding cost controlling and project cost reporting of Sadara’s capital projects. And implements the cost control strategies according to Project Execution Plans, contractual clauses and Sadara’s standards.

-Identify and reports the “earned value” and monitors engineering and construction contractor’s productivity.

-Install projects’ Work Breakdown Structures on SAP.

-Ensure contractors compliance with contractual obligation regarding the form and content of cost reporting.

-Ensure that commitments and actual cost incurred are properly valued, that change orders, overruns, expended costs are reported in time and cost risks are reasonably priced and reported to the Project Manager / Project Engineer.

-Ensure that reliable, clearly structured and accurate cost reports & forecasts will be submitted to the project manager and upper management; which include and visualize the current status of the projects’ TIC, budget, commitments, expenditures, priced project risks and forecasts for the next reporting cycle and end of job costs by applying appropriate statistical tools to analyze cost metrics and perform risk analysis activity.

-Ensures that the cost control requirements specified in the project execution plan (PEP) are included in the request for quotation (RFQ) and contract documentation.

Essential: Bachelor of Science degree in any Engineering disciplines.
