Job Overview: The Cost Controller will be responsible for managing and monitoring the hotel's financial performance, ensuring that costs are controlled and that the financial goals of the hotel are met. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze data and provide insights to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Monitor and analyze all costs associated with hotel operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and identifying areas for improvement.
Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing input on operational costs and identifying potential cost-saving measures. Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to management, highlighting variances and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels and minimizing waste through effective control measures.
Data Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data and operational metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction. Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to review financial performance, providing guidance on cost control and efficiency improvements.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation for audits. Process Improvement: Evaluate current processes and systems, recommending improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost management.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost control, finance, or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel management systems is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
