Cost Accounting Manager

Purpose of the job:

The Manager - Costing is responsible for overseeing cost accounting operations, ensuring accurate cost analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role also leads the implementation and integration of the SAP ERP system, aligning financial processes with system capabilities to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and cost transparency across the organization.

Cost Monitoring and Production control

• Production Batch Monitoring: Monitor and analyze production batches to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Production Planning: Monitor and analyze production planning to ensure capacity control.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze direct and indirect costs, reporting on cost variances.
• Standard Cost Accounting: Perform standard cost accounting to accurately capture and allocate production costs.
• Cost Allocation: Allocate prime and conversion costs monthly based on true costing at the SKU level.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Budget Preparation: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for prime costs by SKU (direct and indirect).
• Standard Costing Systems: Develop and implement standard costing systems on the ERP system.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and assumptions for budgeting.
• Budget Performance Monitoring: Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.

Inventory Management

• Inventory Accounting: Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Physical Inventory Counts: Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Inventory Optimization: Analyze inventory levels and make recommendations for optimization.

Financial Reporting

• Report Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for site operations (e.g., waste, OEE, utilities).
• Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Process Optimization

• ERP Implementation: Implement and validate ERP system integrations.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to cost accounting processes and reporting.
• Cost-Saving Initiatives: Drive cost-saving initiatives across production, supply chain, and procurement teams.
• Data Accuracy and Efficiency: Leverage ERP systems and automation tools to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. (MBA, CMA...etc.) is preferrable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting & financial analysis (FMCG is a must).
• Experience with SAP is preferrable or similar ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Language: English is a must, knowing Arabic on top is preferable.

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
