Job Summary

The Draftsman is responsible for providing credible assistance and support in development of high-precision technical drawings and design plans to support industrial and construction projects; collaborating with engineers and project teams to create detailed schematics, managing design revisions, and ensuring drawings meet Tasnee’s quality and compliance standards; providing on-site support to address design challenges and enhance construction efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle complex engineering projects, as a senior project management practitioner, from initial stages through to execution and final close-out related to drafts design, an integral and critically important element of project / construction management.
  • Ensure drafts design conform to project / construction management principles, processes and methodologies duly aligned with Tasnee’s project management framework.
  • Align best project management practices in drafts design as well as Tasnee’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide assistance in drafts designing related to Tasnee’s complex industrial projects, such as new plant constructions or infrastructure upgrades, ensuring alignment with project timelines and resource planning.
  • Assist in tracking design documentation, maintaining an organized system for updates, revisions, and approvals, while ensuring that all project stakeholders have access to the latest drawings.
  • Collaborate with project planning by providing accurate and timely design updates, working closely with project managers to mitigate design-related delays and align with strategic goals.
  • Contribute to project meetings, offering insights into design challenges and potential solutions, and ensuring that drafting timelines are integrated into overall project schedules.
  • Assist in refining detailed design drawings for Tasnee’s engineering projects, utilizing industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit to produce accurate, high-quality schematics for plant expansions or new construction sites.
  • Assist in drawing revisions management efficiently, incorporating feedback from engineers, construction teams, and project managers, and ensuring compliance with Tasnee’s rigorous design standards.
  • Provide support in the development of 3D models and visualizations where necessary, enhancing communication and understanding among project teams and facilitating smoother execution on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to design protocols, regularly reviewing drawings to confirm they meet both company and industry specifications and coordinating with quality assurance teams for final approval.
  • Assist in producing integrated engineering drawings that cover multiple disciplines such as civil, mechanical, and electrical, ensuring seamless coordination between various Tasnee departments and project stakeholders.
  • Assist in utilizing Tasnee-specific guidelines and engineering specifications to develop technical drawings that account for the complexities of industrial environments, such as high-temperature zones or hazardous material storage areas.
  • Assist in facilitating interdisciplinary design reviews, working with engineers from different fields to ensure that all technical drawings support the safe and efficient construction and operation of Tasnee’s facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining precision and accuracy in technical drawings, performing regular checks and updates as projects evolve to ensure compliance with design requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of construction processes to produce designs that are not only functional but also practical for on-site implementation at Tasnee’s facilities, minimizing rework and enhancing efficiency.
  • Anticipate construction challenges in the design phase, collaborating with site engineers to resolve potential issues and ensuring that designs are compatible with on-the-ground realities.
  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting construction plans to provide support during project execution, ensuring that all designs are feasible and that construction teams have clear guidance for implementation.
  • Engage in site visits, when necessary, to offer design clarifications and gather feedback on how drawings translate to physical structures, using insights to refine future drafting practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams by providing precise and up-to-date technical drawings and documentation, supporting smooth workflow and reducing project bottlenecks.
  • Provide proactive on-ground support and assistance in offering design-related problem-solving, using technical expertise to propose modifications or solutions when faced with engineering challenges, ensuring projects continue without unnecessary delays.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Draftsman Diploma Civil or Mechanical
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in drafting and design, preferably within industrial or large-scale construction projects
  • Experience in creating multidisciplinary engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software relevant to the oil/gas & petrochemical sectors
  • Familiar with industry-specific design codes and standards, particularly in the context of construction and engineering projects
