Who We Are Looking For

An experienced Compliance professional and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to manage the SSSAFS Compliance and Financial Crimes programmes and provide Compliance advisory support to the SSSAFS business units. The individual will ideally have extensive knowledge of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) regulatory requirements and products offered to clients through SSSAFS. Experience in working in an international capital market institution is preferred.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As Compliance Officer and MLRO you will

  • Manage the assessment of Compliance and Financial Crimes risks.
  • Execute and deliver on the regulatory compliance oversight programme for SSSAFS, ensuring compliance with the Capital Market Authority (CMA) rules.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the SSSAFS business, providing advisory support to assist with regulatory queries, and ensuring closure of any Compliance issues within a timely manner. Consult, advise and support management on compliance and regulatory matters that affect business decisions and the execution of their duties.
  • Act as Compliance and Financial Crimes representative in governance committees and forums.
  • Produce written reports for Senior Management on the Compliance risk opinion and delivery of the Compliance and Financial Crimes Compliance programmes for SSSAFS, indicating progress achieved and any significant matters requiring attention. Deliver the reports in governance committees and forums, as required.
  • Identify training needs and ensure successful implementation of Compliance and Financial Crimes training and education for all relevant staff within the SSSAFS business. Coordinate with the other locations to ensure consistency where appropriate.
  • Ensure the effective management of the local Compliance policy framework including review and input to regional/global policies, communication of policies and their key requirements to staff as required. This may include developing, implementing, promoting and maintaining compliance standards and procedures that require employees to act in a compliant manner.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative updates or changes, analyse and interpret the regulation and legislation (new and current as required). Provide de-brief and feedback to peers and business stakeholders as required. Contribute to the GRCM process, as required.
  • Play an active role in SSSAFS strategic initiatives, providing expertise on specific regulatory and compliance risks linked to specific projects.
  • Foster good relationships and manage ongoing interactions with the CMA (e.g. regulatory inspections, regulatory licences, registered individual applications, regulatory reporting, etc.).

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level
  • CMA certificates: CME 1 and 2
  • Working knowledge of SSSAFS business products and CMA regulatory requirements
  • 8+ years of related experience including previous experience managing staff
