Civil Engineer

Job description:Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to take on the role of Finishing Works Supervisor. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing finishing works on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Accountability Areas

1. Inspect and approve materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
2. Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless integration of finishing works with overall construction activities.
3. Ensure that finishing works are completed on time and within budget constraints.
4. Maintain safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on the construction site.
5. Prepare and coordinate finishing schedules and budgets, taking into account project timelines and resource availability.
6. Review and approve shop drawings and submittals related to finishing works.
7. Resolve construction conflicts and issues as they arise, working collaboratively with stakeholders to find effective solutions.
8. Liaise with clients, architects, and other engineers to address project requirements and concerns.
9. Train and supervise finishing crews, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
10. Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments to monitor the progress of finishing works and identify any deviations from the project plan.

Role Accountability

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2. Proven experience in supervising finishing works on construction sites.
3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders.
5. Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
6. Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
7. Leadership abilities with a focus on team building, motivation, and problem-solving.
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
9. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Professional certifications or licenses as required by local regulations.
