Chief Product Officer

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Product Officer (CPO) to join our leadership team in a growing Microfinance institution. The CPO will drive the company’s product vision, strategy, and execution, overseeing product management, marketing, development, and management information systems (MIS). In addition, the CPO will work closely with IT leadership to ensure technology and cybersecurity are tightly integrated into product and business strategies.

This is a critical executive role, reporting directly to the CEO, with the mandate to innovate and scale sustainable, customer-centric financial products that empower underserved communities while ensuring operational resilience and security.

• Define and lead the overall product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with company objectives.

• Design and launch innovative microfinance products (credit, digital lending, and other financial services) tailored to target customer needs.

• Ensure products meet regulatory requirements while maximizing accessibility, scalability, and profitability.

• Foster a data-driven culture, using customer insights and analytics to refine product offerings.

• Oversee marketing and brand strategy, ensuring strong market positioning and customer trust.

• Lead customer acquisition, retention, and engagement initiatives through digital and offline channels.

• Champion a customer-first approach, ensuring products are simple, transparent, and impactful.

• Collaborate with technology teams to design and deliver digital financial solutions (mobile platforms, agent networks, APIs).

• Drive innovation in credit scoring, digital onboarding, and alternative data use to enhance financial inclusion.

• Ensure seamless integration of product and technology development cycles.

• Oversee management information systems, ensuring reliable, real-time reporting and analytics for decision-making.

• Develop performance dashboards to track product, portfolio, and customer outcomes.

• Ensure systems are scalable and capable of supporting expansion and regulatory reporting needs.

• Work with CIO/CTO and IT teams to align product requirements with technology infrastructure and security standards.

• Influence the company’s cybersecurity posture, ensuring protection of customer data, digital assets, and transaction integrity.

• Advocate for compliance with data privacy regulations and global best practices in fintech security.

• Build and lead high-performing teams across product, marketing, and MIS functions.

• Act as a key member of the executive team, contributing to overall company strategy, fundraising, and partnerships.

• Establish strong relationships with regulators, investors, and external partners to support growth.
