Automation Engineer

You are responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and processes within a manufacturing or industrial environment. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency, improve production processes, and ensure the reliability of automated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with process engineers and other stakeholders to understand system requirements.
• Write, test, and debug PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) code and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.
• Configure and program industrial robots, sensors, and other automation devices.
• Integrate automated systems with existing manufacturing equipment.
• Commission and test automation solutions to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation improvements.
• Implement upgrades and modifications to enhance system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with automated systems promptly.
• Establish preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and IT, to achieve project goals.
• Provide technical support to production teams as needed.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including design specifications, manuals, and change logs.
• Ensure that automated systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with safety and compliance teams to conduct risk assessments.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and HMI development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Familiarity with robotic systems and their programming (e.g., robotic arms, SCARA robots).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices in industrial automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
