Associate Director - Public Realm (MAS 709)

Qiddiya Investment Company is transforming the landscape of entertainment and leisure experiences in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking an innovative and experienced Associate Director - Public Realm to manage and enhance the quality of public spaces within our development. This role is essential in ensuring that our outdoor environments are not only functional but also visually appealing and sustainable.

As the Associate Director - Public Realm, you will lead the design and implementation of public realm initiatives, connecting visitors to the unique cultural and recreational opportunities Qiddiya has to offer. Your leadership will guide efforts to create accessible, vibrant, and engaging public spaces that align with our vision and enrich the community experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design efforts for public realm projects, ensuring they meet the needs of the community and enhance the overall experience of visitors
• Collaborate with architects, planners, and landscape designers to develop innovative design solutions for parks, plazas, walkways, and other public spaces
• Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with zoning and planning regulations
• Oversee the management of public realm contracts and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• Implement sustainability initiatives within public spaces, focusing on ecological practices and community engagement
• Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and best practices in public realm design and management
• Develop strategies to promote the use of public spaces, including programming and events that encourage community interaction
• Monitor the quality of existing public spaces and implement improvements as needed
• Engage with the community to gather feedback and ensure public realm projects align with their needs and interests
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Environmental Design, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• A minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience in public realm design, urban development, or landscape architecture
• Proven track record of successfully managing public realm projects from conception through implementation
• Strong understanding of urban design principles, landscape architecture, and sustainable design practices
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in design software, including CAD, GIS, and graphic presentation tools
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabia's regulations related to public space and urban development is a plus
