Your new role, what's involved?

• Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) in overseeing the construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Monitor the contractor’s work to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
• Coordinate with the project team, including architects, consultants, and contractors, to resolve technical issues.
• Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site inspectors and engineers.
• Conduct daily site inspections and ensure construction works comply with approved designs and standards.
• Identify and report non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
• Verify that materials used on-site conform to approved submittals and technical specifications.
• Monitor and evaluate the contractor’s workmanship and methods to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Assist in preparing inspection and test plans (ITPs) and review test reports from laboratories.
• Maintain detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and site instructions.
• Support the Resident Engineer in reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of all site-related correspondence, approvals, and reports.
• Coordinate with stakeholders regarding permits, approvals, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor project schedule and milestones, ensuring work progress aligns with the baseline program.
• Identify potential delays and risks, and report to the Resident Engineer with mitigation strategies.
• Assist in conducting progress meetings and preparing meeting minutes.
• Verify contractor’s monthly progress reports and support in certifying work completion.
• Ensure the contractor follows health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
• Report safety violations and coordinate with the HSE officer to enforce corrective actions.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  
  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• A BEng / BSc (Hon) in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant qualification.
• Minimum 15 years experience in managing major construction projects.
• Have regional experience.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
