Assistant OB Van Engineer

Main Duties

  • Operate and maintain live broadcast systems inside OB vans.
  • Install, operate, and maintain broadcast devices such as switchers, routers, and cameras.
  • Manage and operate Talkback and IFB systems.
  • Ensure the stability and reliability of equipment installation and system operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering (preferred), or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in TV broadcasting operations (for assistant engineer level).
  • For senior technician roles: over 10 years of operational experience, particularly in video systems and slow-motion replay.
  • Previous participation in major live broadcast projects.
  • Familiarity with Fiber, IP, and RF systems.
  • Fluency in Arabic or English (speaking and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in live broadcast environments.
  • Willingness to work across the full week, including weekends and irregular hours.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Maintain OB van system readiness above 95% across all assigned events.
  • Complete on-site setup and testing within scheduled timeframes in 98% of assignments.
  • Fewer than 3 significant technical disruptions per quarter during live operations.
  • Technical incident response time not exceeding 15 minutes during broadcasts.
  • Setup compliance with operational standards and broadcast quality requirements at 100%.
  • Internal team satisfaction rating of 90% or higher based on project feedback.
  • Participation in technical training or skill development activities at least once per quarter
