Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations in accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements.
- Prepare parts, surfaces, and welding equipment to ensure proper setup and process execution.
- Read and interpret work instructions, welding procedures, technical documentation, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate welding operations.
- Set up, operate, and monitor welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect parts before, during, and after welding to ensure conformance to quality requirements.
- Record and maintain accurate process and production data as required.
- Identify welding defects, nonconforming conditions, or process abnormalities and escalate concerns as needed.
- Support repair and rework activities in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
- Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Demonstrate strong understanding and application of Lean principles in daily work activities.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.
- Support improvements in standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
- Work within takt time and standard process flow expectations to support production goals.
- Use shop floor systems and interfaces such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon as required.
- Comply with company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work.
- Diploma, technical college degree, welding certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, repair welding, or related industrial manufacturing operations.
- Min 2 years’ experience in welding gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
