Role Overview
The Tournament City Operations - Operations will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of city-level operational activities for a major international football tournament. Working closely with operational leads, host city stakeholders, venues, and service providers, the role will assist in ensuring all tournament operations are delivered efficiently and in accordance with established plans and standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating operational activities, tracking readiness milestones, supporting stakeholder engagement, and assisting with event-time operations across tournament host city locations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
- Support the implementation of city operational plans and tournament delivery requirements.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational activities across assigned functional areas.
- Monitor operational readiness actions and maintain tracking tools and reports.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of operational documentation, schedules, and briefings.
- Support the coordination of meetings, workshops, and operational planning sessions.
Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with host city stakeholders, service providers, venues, and government agencies as directed.
- Support communication and information sharing between tournament functional areas and external partners.
- Assist in coordinating operational requests and follow-up actions.
- Maintain stakeholder records, contact lists, and operational documentation.
Readiness & Testing Activities
- Support the delivery of operational readiness exercises, simulations, and test events.
- Track action items arising from readiness activities and ensure timely follow-up.
- Assist in monitoring operational preparedness against established milestones.
Event-Time Operations
- Support operational activities during tournament periods.
- Monitor service delivery and report operational issues to senior operational teams.
- Assist in coordinating responses to operational incidents and disruptions.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to city operations teams.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain operational trackers, reports, and readiness dashboards.
- Compile meeting minutes, action logs, and operational updates.
- Support data collection and reporting requirements across operational functions.
- Ensure records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in events, sports operations, project coordination, venue operations, or a related field.
- Experience supporting large-scale events or multi-stakeholder projects is preferred.
- Previous experience in sporting events or international tournaments is advantageous.
