Why Now
Diesel nearly R27 a litre. Every percent counts.
South African diesel hit record territory in 2026, and July’s R3.59 relief didn’t last: August’s R1.23 increase has taken 50ppm back up to R26.90 a litre inland — and the levies that drove it up haven’t gone away. For farmers, mines and transporters, fuel remains one of the biggest line items on the books — often 30–40% of operating cost.
You can’t control the fuel price. You can control how much of every litre actually becomes work instead of soot. That’s what a combustion catalyst does — and at a treatment cost of just over 1% of fuel spend, a documented 5–10% efficiency gain pays for itself many times over.
What 5% means at today’s prices

of fuel spend — the cost of treatment. The rest is yours.

What is Fuel Ox?
A combustion catalyst — not just another additive
Most additives only clean or stabilise fuel. Fuel Ox goes further: its patented combustion catalyst promotes a more complete, more efficient burn inside the engine.
Diesel is one of the biggest line items for any fleet, mine or farm. At today’s prices, even a conservative 5% fuel saving translates into hundreds of thousands of rand per year for a mid-sized fleet.
Add reduced soot, fewer DPF regenerations, cleaner injectors and longer engine life — and the additive pays for itself many times over.
How It Works
Six ways the combustion catalyst transforms your burn
Fuel Ox Combustion Catalyst Disperses fuel clumps → better fuel–oxygen mixing Lowers ignition point ~110 °C → earlier ignition, longer burn Promotes free-radical formation → more complete combustion Hotter, faster flame → less soot Protects components → no carbon buildup on injectors & valves Cuts emissions → acts like an in-fuel catalytic converter

The Benefits
What Fuel Ox does for your operation
Improved Fuel Economy
A more complete burn improves fuel economy — documented field gains from 6% to over 30% depending on engine and duty cycle.
Lower Emissions
Cleaner combustion means less soot, smoke and particulate output — and dramatically fewer DPF regens.
Engine Protection
Added lubricity and detergency protect injectors, pumps and fuel systems, reducing maintenance costs.
Fuel Stability
Stabilises stored diesel and inhibits bacterial growth in tanks — critical for backup generators and farm storage.
More Power, Less Noise
Better thermal efficiency delivers smoother, quieter running and improved engine response under load.
Rapid Payback
At a 1:10 000 treat rate the cost per litre treated is tiny — savings typically exceed cost many times over.

Frequently asked questions
Does Fuel Ox actually work — and can I prove it on my own equipment?
Yes. Fuel Ox has documented fuel-efficiency gains in independent and customer-supervised trials — from +6.4% to +30.5% across mining haul trucks and excavators in Ghana, and +12.31% in a year-long, independently reported UK fleet trial. Because results vary by engine and duty cycle, PFM Global runs a supervised baseline-versus-treated trial on your own equipment before you commit to anything.
What is a combustion catalyst, and how is it different from a normal additive?
Most additives only clean or stabilise fuel. Fuel Ox’s patented combustion catalyst lowers the fuel’s ignition point and promotes a more complete, efficient burn inside the engine — so more of every litre becomes work instead of soot. That improves economy and cuts emissions while keeping injectors and fuel systems clean.
Will Fuel Ox void my engine (OEM) warranty?
No. Treated fuel stays within the ASTM D975 and EN 590 diesel specifications, so it does not breach OEM fuel requirements or void manufacturer warranties. OEM warranty-compliance and independent lab-spec reports are available in our documentation section.
Is Fuel Ox EPA-registered and safe to handle?
Yes — Fuel Ox with Combustion Catalyst is EPA-registered. It should be handled like any industrial additive; the full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and HSE statement are available to download in our documentation section.
How much Fuel Ox do I need?
The treat rate is 1:10 000 — 100 ml treats 1 000 litres of fuel, and a single 208-litre drum treats over 2 million litres. Use our online calculator to estimate the exact volume, cost and savings for your fleet.
What fuels does it work with?
Diesel, petrol and heavy fuel oil — it is 100% soluble in petroleum-based fuels. It also stabilises stored diesel and inhibits microbial growth, which matters for farm tanks, fuel depots and standby generators.
