Role Overview

The Rights Protection Supervisor will support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and enforcement of commercial rights protection activities across tournament venues, host cities, and official event sites. The role will assist in safeguarding intellectual property, sponsorship exclusivity, licensing rights, and event branding by helping prevent unauthorized commercial activities, ambush marketing, counterfeit merchandise, and infringements of commercial rights.


Working closely with the Rights Protection Manager, operational teams, government authorities, venue operators, and commercial stakeholders, the Rights Protection Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring compliance with rights protection policies and procedures throughout the event lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the Rights Protection Programme across venues, host cities, and official event sites.

  • Assist with monitoring and identifying unauthorized commercial activities, ambush marketing, counterfeit merchandise, and misuse of intellectual property.

  • Conduct venue inspections and site assessments to ensure compliance with clean site, clean venue, and clean zone requirements.

  • Support rights protection operations during event-time activities, including monitoring of public areas, commercial zones, and surrounding venue precincts.

  • Coordinate with venue management teams, security personnel, local authorities, and operational stakeholders regarding rights protection requirements.

  • Maintain records of rights protection incidents, observations, investigations, and enforcement actions.

  • Assist in the investigation and documentation of potential infringements and prepare incident reports for management review.

  • Support the review of proposed commercial activities and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with commercial rights regulations.

  • Contribute to awareness and training programmes for staff, volunteers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders regarding rights protection obligations.

  • Monitor compliance with sponsorship, licensing, and branding guidelines across operational areas.

  • Support reporting activities, including daily operational updates, compliance reports, and post-event assessments.

  • Escalate rights protection issues and risks to the Rights Protection Manager as required.

  • Assist with the coordination of corrective actions and follow-up activities related to identified infringements.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, Commercial Management, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in rights protection, commercial compliance, brand protection, intellectual property, event operations, sponsorship activation, or related fields.

  • Experience working on major events, sporting events, exhibitions, festivals, or large-scale public events is desirable.

  • Understanding of intellectual property rights, sponsorship protection, licensing, trademarks, and commercial compliance principles.

  • Experience conducting inspections, compliance monitoring, or operational audits is advantageous.

  • Strong organisational, reporting, and administrative skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting rights protection, brand protection, sponsorship protection, or commercial compliance programmes.

  • Previous involvement in major sporting events, international tournaments, exhibitions, entertainment events, or large-scale public gatherings.

  • Familiarity with clean venue, clean zone, and anti-ambush marketing principles.

  • Experience coordinating with venue operators, government authorities, security teams, or enforcement agencies.

  • Knowledge of licensing compliance and counterfeit merchandise prevention practices.
