At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer – CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) to support and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for large-scale Data Centre construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all civil, structural, and architectural works are executed in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, approved drawings, industry codes, and client requirements. Working closely with project managers, construction teams, consultants, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and client representatives, the Quality Engineer – CSA will play a critical role in delivering mission-critical facilities that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Management
Responsible for implementing and maintaining project quality management systems across all civil, structural, and architectural construction activities. The role will ensure compliance with project quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, specifications, and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will support the development of quality procedures, participate in quality audits, monitor compliance with established processes, and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Civil and Structural Quality Control
Oversee quality inspections for civil and structural works, including site preparation, earthworks, excavation, foundations, underground utilities, reinforced concrete structures, structural steel installations, roadworks, and external infrastructure. The role will verify that construction activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, engineering specifications, industry standards, and testing requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate inspections, review test results, monitor workmanship standards, and ensure timely resolution of quality issues and non-conformances.
Architectural Quality Control
Manage quality control activities associated with architectural works, including building envelopes, roofing systems, waterproofing, fire-rated assemblies, facades, floor finishes, wall systems, ceilings, raised access floors, doors, windows, and support facilities. The role will ensure all architectural installations meet project performance criteria, quality expectations, and Data Centre operational requirements. Particular attention will be given to critical areas where architectural systems interface with mission-critical infrastructure and environmental control systems.
Data Centre Construction Quality Oversight
Play a key role in ensuring that all CSA works supporting Data Centre operations are delivered to the highest quality standards. The role will conduct inspections and verification activities to ensure compliance with mission-critical facility requirements, including structural tolerances, equipment foundation readiness, cleanroom-quality finishes where applicable, fire compartmentation systems, waterproofing integrity, and building envelope performance. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical, electrical, ELV, and commissioning teams to ensure construction quality supports successful system installation, testing, and operational readiness.
Inspection and Testing Management
Coordinate and witness inspections and testing activities throughout the construction process. The role will review inspection reports, laboratory test results, concrete testing records, material certifications, welding inspections, coating inspections, and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements. The successful candidate will maintain inspection records and ensure all testing and verification activities are completed before progressing to subsequent construction phases.
Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Management
Identify, document, investigate, and track non-conformance reports (NCRs), observations, and quality deficiencies. The role will coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to implement corrective and preventive actions, verify closure of quality issues, and prevent recurrence through effective root cause analysis. The successful candidate will ensure that all quality concerns are resolved promptly and in accordance with project procedures and client expectations.
Documentation and Quality Reporting
Maintain accurate quality records and ensure all documentation is properly controlled and filed in accordance with project requirements. The role will prepare quality reports, inspection summaries, audit findings, quality metrics, and trend analyses for project management and client review. The successful candidate will support project quality reviews and provide clear visibility of quality performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Coordination and Site Support
Work closely with project managers, construction managers, consultants, subcontractors, client representatives, and quality teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on quality objectives. The role will participate in site inspections, quality meetings, technical workshops, and project reviews while providing technical guidance and support to construction teams regarding quality requirements and standards.
Commissioning and Handover Support
Support project commissioning and handover activities by ensuring all CSA works have been inspected, tested, documented, and completed in accordance with project specifications. The role will assist with punch list management, quality verification inspections, turnover documentation reviews, and final acceptance activities. The successful candidate will ensure that completed facilities meet client expectations and support successful operational readiness and project closeout.
Here's what you'll need
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline and have a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in construction quality assurance and quality control, including at least 3–5 years of experience on large-scale Data Centre, mission-critical, industrial, or complex infrastructure projects.
Experience managing quality requirements for civil, structural, and architectural works in fast-track construction environments is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
