Our Potential Opportunity

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking Operational Shutdown & Cutover Planner / Manager to join our dynamic team. The role requires expertise in developing detailed shutdown and cutover execution plans that minimize production downtime, manage safety risks, and ensure the reliable transfer of operations from legacy to new systems, including control systems such as Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems.

What You’ll Lead And Deliver

• Develop comprehensive, work-order-level shutdown and turnaround plans using Primavera P6 or equivalent, covering all disciplines including instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and piping.
• Develop and implement detailed cutover procedures for the migration or commissioning of new systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) including Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems, minimizing disruption to plant operations.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with shutdowns and cutovers, developing contingency plans for critical path activities.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, project management, and HSE teams to align shutdown and cutover execution plans.
• Plan and schedule all labor, equipment, and materials required for shutdown and cutover activities, ensuring resources are mobilized on time.
• Monitor shutdown and cutover execution in real time, tracking progress against the plan and directing corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Ensure all shutdown and cutover activities are executed under proper permit-to-work (PTW) systems and isolation management protocols.
• Prepare detailed pre-shutdown, during-shutdown, and post-shutdown reports, including lessons learned and close-out documentation.
  
  

Requirements:

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
• 13–15 years of experience in shutdown planning, turnaround management, and cutover execution in oil, gas, or petrochemical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of shutdown and turnaround planning methodologies and tools (Primavera P6, Prometheus, or equivalent).
• Experience planning and managing cutovers for control systems including Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems.
• In-depth knowledge of isolation management, PTW systems, and operational safety protocols.
  
  

Technical Skills:

• Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 or SAP PM for developing, baselining, and managing detailed shutdown work orders and schedules.
• Expertise in developing and executing control system cutover plans, including Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems transitions, with minimal production impact.
• Deep knowledge of isolation certification, valve lineup, and energy isolation procedures for complex plant systems.
• Proficiency in conducting HAZOP, LOPA, and task risk assessments specifically for shutdown and cutover activities.
• Experience applying turnaround KPIs (schedule adherence, safety, cost performance) to monitor and control shutdown execution quality.

• Ability to lead multi-discipline shutdown teams and drive alignment across operations, engineering, and project management.
• Clear and timely communicator, providing regular situational updates to senior management and client representatives during critical shutdown windows.
• Decisive under pressure, able to make real-time decisions during fast-paced shutdown and cutover execution.
• Exceptional ability to manage hundreds of simultaneous work orders and activities during peak shutdown execution.
• Skilled in rapidly identifying and resolving shutdown delays, equipment failures, and execution challenges.
  
  

Experience Requirements:

• 13–15 years of progressive experience in shutdown and turnaround planning and execution in oil and gas or petrochemical facilities.
• Proven experience managing system cutovers involving Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD Systems during brownfield modifications or expansion projects.
• Track record of successfully planning and executing major operational shutdowns on Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, or equivalent tier-1 operator facilities.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams of 200+ personnel during complex multi-disciplinary shutdowns.
