You and the role
The Manager, Field Service & Technical Support is responsible for leading and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Software, and PLC Field Service activities within the Saudi Arabia region. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and responsive technical support to customers through effective management of Field Service and Technical Training engineers.
The position is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction, ensuring operational excellence, developing technical capabilities within the team, and supporting business growth through effective service delivery and technical leadership.
Primary responsibilities
Field Service Management
- Manage and supervise Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation Field Service Engineers.
- Ensure efficient planning, scheduling, and deployment of field service resources.
- Monitor field service performance, utilization, productivity, and service quality.
- Support major field operations, rig commissioning, upgrades, inspections, CAT III/IV projects, and emergency interventions.
- Ensure all service activities are executed safely and in accordance with company and client requirements.
24/7 Technical Support
- Support and align with the global 24/7 Support Line organisation
- Provide technical troubleshooting support and ensure seamless coordination
- Drive continuous improvement of regional support processes and knowledge-sharing in alignment with global standards
Training and Competency Development
- In alignment with BENTEC global training departments, develop and implement training programs for Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation personnel.
- Establish competency matrices and qualification requirements for technical staff.
- Identify skill gaps and create development plans for engineers and technicians.
- Coordinate internal and external technical training programs for BENTEC personnel and customers.
- Support succession planning and development of future technical leaders.
Customer Support and Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide technical guidance and support.
- Support contract execution, service agreements, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for service improvements and additional business opportunities.
Experience
- Prove experience in oilfield services, preferably in field operations or technical support.
- Proven experience in delivering technical training and supporting field operations.
- Experience with drilling rigs, oilfield equipment, industrial automation systems, or heavy machinery is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, industrial control systems, electrical systems, software integration, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment.
Behaviour and Skills
- Strong understanding of oilfield equipment, tools, and service procedures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Minimum qualifications – desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a similar domain
