Job Title:

Lathe Machine Operator

Role Purpose:

Operate and maintain lathe machines to manufacture and repair mechanical parts according to technical drawings, ensuring quality, safety, and efficient maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional and CNC lathe machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fits, and tolerances.
• Perform boring, drilling, reaming, threading, and tapping operations.
• Set up tools, inserts, collets, and machine accessories.
• Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain machine coolant, lubrication, and general condition.
• Follow work orders, SOPs, and safety procedures.
• Assist in training new operators and improving work processes.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification:

High School Diploma, Trade Certificate (ITI), or equivalent technical qualification.

Technical Skills:

• Lathe and CNC machine operation.
• Reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of machining processes and materials.
• Familiarity with FANUC controls.
• Use of measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, gauges).

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, beverage, bottling, FMCG, or machine shop environments.
