Electronics Technician

Job Summary:

• Perform inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of assigned electronic and electrical systems on oilfield equipment under supervisor guidance.
• Support troubleshooting and calibration of sensors, wiring, control circuits, instrumentation, data acquisition, and equipment communication systems.

Key Accountabilities:

• Inspect, test, maintain, repair and replace assigned electronic and electrical components such as pressure transducers, flow-meter signals, sensors, actuators, relays, switches, control panels, electric motors, wiring harnesses and 12/24 VDC control circuits.
• Support diagnostics on engine and transmission electrical/electronic systems, including basic ECM/ TCM fault-code checks, sensor signal verification, harness continuity testing, connector inspection, voltage drop checks and actuator circuit testing.
• Use approved diagnostic tools and test instruments, including digital multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, power supplies, signal generators and OEM/ service diagnostic applications where authorized.
• Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment schematics to trace faults, verify circuits and support repair decisions.
• Assist in calibration, functional testing and commissioning of instrumentation, data acquisition systems, control boxes and equipment communication interfaces under supervision.
• Carry out basic configuration, loading or update support for PLC, HMI, Windows-based equipment systems and data acquisition software only as instructed by the supervisor or Senior Electronics Technician.
• Prepare clear inspection notes, test readings, defect reports, parts requirements and work-order updates to support accurate job history and customer reporting.
• Support final inspection and equipment testing activities to confirm safety, functionality and readiness for customer acceptance or workshop release.

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude:

• Educational Qualifications & Certifications: Diploma or technical certificate in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Automotive Electrical Systems, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of electronic and electrical maintenance practices in a workshop or oilfield equipment environment. Familiarity with 12/24 VDC electrical systems, grounding, fuses, relays, circuit protection, continuity, resistance, insulation and voltage testing.
• Technical Skills: Electrical troubleshooting using schematics, wiring diagrams, and test instruments. Use of digital multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, power supplies, and basic diagnostic software.
• Language Skills: Good working communication in English is required for manuals, drawings, job cards and technical reporting.
• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant electronics/ electrical maintenance or workshop troubleshooting experience is preferred.
