Bridge Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and detailed bridge inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to quality, HSE, and regulatory requirements .

  • Coordinate with the PMO to align inspection activities with the overall project schedule, scope, and milestones.

  • Review construction materials, workmanship, and methods to ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Identify non-conformities, issue inspection reports, and follow up on corrective actions.

  • Participate in site assessments, surveys, and technical inspections related to bridge structures.

  • Support risk identification and mitigation by reporting potential technical, quality, or safety issues to the PMO.

  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.

  • Track inspection progress and submit regular reports and KPIs to the PMO and project stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical and construction issues.

  • Ensure all bridge works comply with local, national, and international codes and standards .

  • Maintain proper documentation, inspection records, and as-built verification reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge inspection or construction supervision , preferably within PMO-managed projects.

  • Strong understanding of bridge construction methods, materials, and inspection procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements .

  • Familiarity with bridge-related standards, codes, and safety regulations.

  • Experience working closely with contractors, consultants, and PMO teams.

  • Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of HSE practices applicable to bridge and infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as PMP, CCP, or relevant inspection certifications .

  • Experience in government-funded or large-scale public infrastructure projects .

  • Previous involvement in O&M or long-term infrastructure programs .
