Assistant Head Nurse

Diaverum Saudi Arabia | دياڤيرم السعودية

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Jeddah
Contract type: Full time

Diaverum is a Swedish-born, multinational healthcare organisation providing life-enhancing renal care to patients with chronic kidney disease. With more than 15,000 employees across 25 countries, and over 1,400 colleagues in 33 cities and towns across the Kingdom, we combine global experience with strong local presence. Our vision is to transform renal care by broadening access to high-quality kidney care. This is enabled by our standardised care delivery model, continuously evolving digital and AI capabilities, and people who care with competence, passion and inspiration.

Patient safety in a dialysis clinic depends on strong nursing leadership at every shift. As our clinics across the Kingdom grow, we need experienced nurses ready to take on supervisory responsibility, support staff and uphold clinical standards day to day.

We are now looking for an Assistant Head Nurse who supports the Head Nurse in managing staff, maintaining quality of care and keeping clinic operations running safely and smoothly.

The Role

The Assistant Head Nurse plays a key leadership role in supporting the Head Nurse to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality clinic operations. The role contributes to staff management, patient care supervision, quality and patient safety, education, competency follow-up, audit action plans, and accreditation readiness. Through effective communication, clinical oversight, and active staff support, the Assistant Head Nurse helps maintain professional standards, strengthen team performance, and promote Diaverum’s True Care culture in daily practice.

You will report to the Head Nurse and work closely with clinic staff, clinic mentors and the Country Nursing Manager.

What you will help us build

You will support daily clinic operations and help the Head Nurse maintain a high standard of patient care across the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support staff selection, scheduling and orientation for new employees.
  • Counsel employees and advise the Head Nurse on appropriate actions.
  • Supervise and evaluate patient care through rounds and quality assurance projects.
  • Monitor safety, cleanliness and equipment standards in the clinic.
  • Support audit action plans and Risk Management implementation.
  • Identify learning needs and support ongoing staff development.

Who You Are

You lead with clinical expertise and a calm presence. You notice problems early and act on them before they grow.

You will be well-suited to this role if you:

  • Communicate clearly with staff, patients and families.
  • Stay composed and decisive under pressure.
  • Build trust with your team through consistency.
  • Hold yourself and others to high clinical standards.
  • Show cultural sensitivity in a diverse clinic environment.

Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with real, hands-on experience in dialysis nursing and clinical leadership.

What we need:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; a Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Certified in BLS, preferably with ACLS certification.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, communication skills, clinical expertise, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, monitoring and education skills, administrative skills, emotional intelligence, and resilience.

Experience in the following areas will help you succeed:

  • Supervising or mentoring clinical staff.
  • Leading quality assurance or patient safety projects.
  • Coordinating with multi-disciplinary medical teams.
  • Managing clinic-level reporting and documentation.
  • Experience in multi-site organization.

What Makes This Role Meaningful

Every staffing decision and quality check you make has a direct effect on patient safety. Unlike many leadership roles, this one keeps you close to the clinic floor, where you can see the outcome of your decisions on real patients, every day.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you lead with clinical expertise, care about your team and want your work to directly improve patient outcomes, apply.
