Job Summary

$2,000 sign-on bonus (terms/taxes apply). Current BCH employees not eligible for bonus

Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. *once fully trained determined by the manager, the ability to work remotely 2x a week


The Patient Experience Representative will be responsible for:

  • Patient Encounter Management

    • Assisting with scheduling relevant diagnostic testing and care coordination

    • Provides positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations.

    • Collaborates with referring providers and practices.

    • Obtains required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules.

    • Schedules patients and supports the patient encounter

    • Preparing charts for physician’s clinics and checking patients in for various appointments. Organizing all patient information, including verifying insurance and obtaining required medical records and approved insurance referral authorizations on each patient. Promptly and accurately logging updated information.

    • Organizing medical records, information, materials and supplies.

    • Serving as liaison to resolve equipment, supply, cleaning and safety issues.

    • Accessing hospital and department systems to enter and retrieve information.

    • Monitoring daily operations and communicating with clinicians and/or supervisor to maintain efficient patient/visitor flow.

    • Responding to requests for information and assistance, and providing general office support as required.

    • Providing positive and effective customer service and contributing to teamwork within and between departments.

  • Check In / Check Out:

    • Greets and directs patients, families and visitors.

    • Monitors daily schedule and coordinates flow with clinicians /supervisor.

    • Reconciles payments and prepares deposits, provides record of transactions in Hospital systems

    • Facilitates and directs communication with Financial Counseling.

  • Administrative:

    • Patient correspondence, distributing incoming mail, sorting and uploading outside notes and radiographs into the patient’s medical record. Processing patient paperwork and requests and assisting in letter writing and various projects and tasks when needed.

    • Maintains personal calendars for physician/supervisor(s).

    • Schedules meetings, programs and events.

    • Records and forwards messages, triages call for urgent information or services, initiates call for emergency services.

    • Provides routine clerical support as needed.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Actively contributes to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on continuous process improvement.

    • Assists in implementing change in internal systems and procedures.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A high school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred.

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
