What you will be doing


Lead the Grocery Retail revolution at Albertsons with bold strategic thinking, impactful growth initiatives, and best-in-class execution to become the #1 Grocer of choice and gain ‘customers for life’.


The Strategy Team Role



  • In close consultation with the Chief Merchandising Officer and merchandising senior leadership team, drive Albertsons’ long-range merchandising strategy, to achieve top-tier shareholder returns

    • Build Albertsons go-forward strategy and drive disciplined prioritization, resource allocation, decision making and execution to “make it real”

    • Explore new growth opportunities, and bring strategic focus and accountability to transform Albertsons business with pace, to deliver consistent, sustainable results


  • Oversee Annual Planning and Quarterly Business review processes with divisions / functions to ensure strong alignment with and traction against corporate strategy

  • Serve as internal consultant and thought partner for divisions / corporate functions on key priorities, and as a pipeline for organizational talent


Main responsibilities



  • Lead critical initiatives, in partnership with cross-functional leaders across the company on key strategy topics that identifies and achieves enterprise & business unit growth

  • Support cross-functional business partners with powerful analytic insights / problem solving

  • Monitor and analyze internal / external landscape, including customer, market, vendor, category and financial data, to build strategies and recommend appropriate action

  • Synthesize findings and develop storyline / material to communicate recommendations to senior management and leadership team

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and effectively influence to drive business decisions and advance long-term transformation efforts

  • Partner with other members of the merchandising strategy team to deliver on our ambition & commitments to the broader organization


What we are searching for:
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:



  • Bachelors in analytical discipline (e.g., Business, Engineering, Economics, or Science)

  • 3-5 years of total work experience in strategy or other relevant roles

  • Top tier consulting firm or corporate experience (CPG, Retail or eComm/B2C) preferred

  • Strong project management and organizational skills to work cross-functionally across the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize clearly and simplify the complex

  • Strategic / analytical mindset with ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop frameworks

  • You are a courageous, decisive and motivated thought leader

  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity, complexity, change and pace

  • Authentic, integrity, humility, curiosity and love of grocery retail
