JOB SUMMARY: This position has primary responsibility for directing and supervising the staff who provide mental health and support services to clients and their families. The Clinical Supervisor may have their own caseload in addition to oversight responsibilities. S/he acts as liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical & support staff. This position participates in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and revision of the clinical treatment program. The Center Director/Clinical Supervisor represents the agency to county agencies and the community. S/he meets with clients, provides direct care and treatment, and may be involved in the client grievance process. The Center Director/Clinical Supervisor is responsible for facility management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master's degree in Nursing Administration, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Rehabilitation Therapy, Marriage, and Family Therapy/Counseling, or equivalent required
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology preferred
Experience
Three (3) years of direct clinical therapy service experience with seriously mentally disordered clients
One (1) year of supervisory experience in an inpatient setting
License or Certification
CA license appropriate to the profession (MD, Clinical Psychology, RN, LCSW, MFT, etc.)
Valid CA Driver's license and clear current DMV printout
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides supervision to Clinicians, Peer Support Staff, nursing staff, and Data and Records Clerks
2. Interviews referred clients, family members, and significant others to assess and evaluate their appropriateness and need for services
3. Coordinates admission of clients and assignment to staff
4. Assists staff in ensuring that treatment services will be appropriate, and timely and that the goals of the treatment plan will be attained
5. Provides ongoing in-service training and continuing education on a regular basis for staff as needed
6. Assists the SBHG Director of Quality Management and Training in ensuring that orientation, annual education, in-service training, and continuing education for clinical staff members will meet regulatory compliance as well as lead to program and staff growth
7. Directs, coordinates, and maximizes the integration and cooperation of programs with other services and local community resources by facilitating collaborations and partnerships between representatives of the County, contract providers, and non-profit agencies
8. Assures integration of services with the co-locations if appropriate
9. Assists in recruiting physicians and other clinical practitioners for service to clients
10. Assures that all clients are advised of their rights when admitted and that these rights are protected through appropriate policies and that denials of rights are in compliance with
applicable law
11. Represents the program to county agencies, governing board members, and the community as needed
12. Serves on and, in some cases, chairs clinical and operational committees of the program as required or requested
