Local Driver/Yard Switcher

The Local Driver / Yard Switcher position has the primary responsibility of relocating and transporting trailers on facility properties as well as transporting products and providing local pick-up and delivery duties. When not required to perform yard switcher or local driver duties this person will perform all duties of the loading dock associate




Schedule

• Monday - Thursday; 5:30 am - 3:30 pm - Occasional overtime as needed

What your role entails

• Relocate and transport trailers on facility property as required to stage trailers for loading and unloading to meet required receiving, production and shipping goals.


• Transport product locally between plant and local vendors.


• Transport product locally between plant and local customers & provide excellent customer service.


• Check truck equipment and supplies to ensure road worthiness.


• Maintains all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Marvin regulations.


• Maintain responsibility for proper documentation of department data.


• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.

What makes you a good fit

• Valid Class A driver's license (CDL) is required; previous truck driving experience is strongly preferred.


• Must be a safe and courteous driver, representing Marvin in a professional manner.


• Meet all DOT requirements.


• Oral and written communication skills required.


• Must be able to work well in a team and work well independently (self-directed ability to follow directions).


• Basic computer skills are required.


• Must be at least 21 years old.
