Job Description

The Strategy team within Sales & Account Management (SAM) builds the data-driven programs, tools, and technology to deliver outsized impact to GTM operations across Square. We are a team of Technical Program Managers, Program Managers and Analysts, who collaborate with Sales & Account Management teams as well as Product and Automation teams to lead programs around company-wide GTM priorities.

As a Program Manager on the SAM Strategy team, you will drive improvements to our core processes and change management focused on SMB Sales and Account Management teams. You will identify opportunities, align across cross-functional stakeholders, pursue solutions while assessing trade-offs, and ensure the execution of programs to boost Square's growth. Ideal team members can manage stakeholders, develop and drive change management to SAM teams. You will report to a Program Management Lead.

You Will:

  • Deeply engage with our Account Executives & Account Managers, embody their daily operational challenges and identify issues that limit scalability across the organization

  • Develop thoughtful change management in partnership with Sales & Account Management leadership and PM peers for SAM programs

  • Drive the rules of engagement within our Sales and Account Management teams for collaboration

  • Strive for operational excellence across the programs you support in SMB Sales and Account Management

  • Manage program and project plans with clear and well defined goals, scope, and deliverables across all impacted areas

  • Identify areas of improvement through research, synthesizing data, and qualitative insights

  • Build and maintain relationships with teams within Sales & Account Management and Product, Automation and Finance teams


You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in a project/program management and/or strategy & operations role at a technology company

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment to drive cross-functional work towards a common business goal

  • Extensive experience documenting cross-functional business requirements

  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, and thought leadership

  • Experience influencing without authority and gaining alignment across teams

  • Demonstrated track record of driving process improvement and results on time on high impact, organization-wide initiatives

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
