Plan, coordinate, lead, facilitate, provide status reports, and ensure stability of project management processes and methodologies for principal investigator- (PI-) initiated research activities, and provide direct day-to-day supervision of graduate student work activities and research-oriented programming staff

As appropriate to position, serve as the primary point of contact for multiple projects and serve as a leader in the application of quality improvement tools and methods

Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet assigned expectation, as well as to manage resources required to successfully execute projects by defining roles and responsibilities and arranging assignments for key project participants, and be responsible for develop/define, publish, and execute project plan (e.g., Statement of Work (SOW), work plans and schedules, budgets, and deliverable/responsibility matrices

  • A demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes which may include managing multiple projects, business process analysis, or process improvement projects required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to facilitate conversations and understand role as facilitator required.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a workgroup required.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Education:

Master's degree

Business Administration, Healthcare/Nursing Administration, Health Information, Bioinformatics, Organizational Development, or related field

Preferred Experience:

4 or more years project management experience in information technology and healthcare quality improvement preferred. Healthcare experience and a general understanding of healthcare business functions preferred

Prior formal management experience in electronic health record use, implementation and data capture/use

  • Project management skills preferred. Knowledge of project management software.

Emotional intelligence traits (i.e., patience, listening, self-reflective, thoughtful, ability to build trusting relationships, reasoning and understanding).

  • Possess the ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matter.

  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

  • Flexible during times of change preferred. Excellent analytical skills.

  • Ability to understand and document business requirements if necessary.
