Job Description Summary

The Referral Coordinator and College Mental Health Professional provides mental health case management, matching Penn students to mental health services outside of Student Health and Counseling. They will serve as a member of the Drop-in Team doing triage assessment. They will provide consultation and collaboration with staff regarding client referral needs, insurance options and community provider or agency availability. Develops, organizes, and implements all referral data, including data collection and reports. The Referral Coordinator will work closely with the Counseling Case Manager to ensure policies and procedures and maintains strict adherence to principles of confidentiality.



Job Description




Duties:

Provides mental health referral services, matching Penn students to clinically appropriate mental health services outside of Student Health and Counseling to other university resources, and/or community providers or organizations.



Develop and coordinate care plans for students, organize follow-up treatment plans following hospitalizations, session terminations, and requests for specialized treatment in the Philadelphia area, within the U.S. and internationally.



Cooperation and collaboration with professionals within the center and in key partnership offices.



Manage The WellTrack database, including signing up and communicating with community providers, and liaising with database administrators.



Provides consultation and collaboration with Student Counseling staff regarding client referral needs, insurance options and community provider or agency availability.



Develops, organizes, and implements all referral data, including data collection and reports. The Referral Coordinator will work closely with the Student Counseling Case Manager to ensure successful continuity of care.



Duties as otherwise assigned.



Qualifications



Master's degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in a university counseling center or mental health agency addressing the needs of a young adult population. Minimum LSW or LPC degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical experience must include familiarity with case management functions and strategies including stabilization of clients, crisis assessment and management, collaborative communication with multi-disciplinary providers both internally and externally, and a solid knowledge base of a wide range of mental health concerns. Seeking an individual who can promote teamwork, be flexible with attention to detail, and communicate with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment a must as well as alignment with values of equity and inclusion.



Student Health and Counseling is seeking candidates with a solid understanding of how marginalization, inequality, and identity impact students. Foundation in multicultural counseling is strongly preferred. Experience with multidisciplinary collaboration, consultation and integrated care is highly desirable. Expected to adopt some flexible hours during the week to cover evening shifts. Some Saturdays, 10 am to 3 pm may be required. Must be licensed in the State of Pennsylvania.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
