PURPOSE STATEMENT




Rich’s Global Technology team is looking for a Food Science Intern starting in Spring 2023 for a duration of 4 to 8 months. This position is in the Research and Development department at our World Headquarters location in Buffalo, New York. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES





  • The primary function of this position is to assist the Global Technology Team with projects ranging from low to high complexity. In this job the student will utilize their fundamental food science and chemistry knowledge to research, develop, and evaluate new technologies such as ingredients, processes, and equipment.

    The main responsibilities in this role are executing experiments in our R&D Laboratory and Pilot Plant, developing analytical tests, supporting with data analysis, and researching emerging food ingredient and process innovations that can be applied to our Global business. This opportunity is available to creative and energetic students who want to make a difference, seek challenges, and want to gain hands on experience in food product and process development.







KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE




Enrolled in bachelor’s or master's degree program in Food Science or related degree such as Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Applied Science.


Candidates must demonstrate an ability to learn quickly, work well independently as well as in a team environment, and manage multiple projects and tasks.


Candidates must be lawfully authorized to work in U.S upon application.


Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
