Job Overview:

Assume a leadership role in assisting the Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in building an integrated enterprise risk management program that effectively identifies, measures, monitors, manages and reports risks


  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in financial services or related industry.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the development, implementation, and management of ERM programs, preferably in the financial services industry. This includes experience in leading, managing, and performing risk assessments, training and awareness efforts, and enterprise-wide programs, and managing direct reports.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk, risk assessment and control methodologies, and major risks such as operational and compliance risks.

  • Good written and verbal communication, collaboration, presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate and interface with diverse stakeholder groups, including senior and executive management, and regulatory agencies.

  • Comprehensive project management skills including work plan development and implementation, project tracking, issue handling, and reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Audit, or related field required. Advanced degree and risk management certification preferred.

Principle Activities and Duties:

As assigned, and under the oversight of the Director of Enterprise Risk Management:

  • Design and lead initiatives to establish and mature the ERM program, to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report on enterprise-wide risks. This includes providing thought leadership regarding the design and implementation of new ERM processes and the maturation of existing ERM processes. This initially is expected to include but may not be limited to assuming ownership of the emerging risk and ERM reporting processes, overseeing enhancements or developing new aspects of the ERM program, such as the ERM Dashboard, key risk indicators, and the risk appetite, and serving as an additional resource during peak department work periods.

  • Build, maintain, and enhance business relationships to ensure a smooth implementation across the organization.

  • Partner with the business and functional areas to identify potential risks and collaborate effectively to achieve ERM program and organizational objectives.

  • Assist in the selection, implementation, and management of an ERM Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software application.

  • Take ownership for assigned areas of responsibility and effectively manage workload for assigned areas of responsibility to meet deadlines.

  • Perform the full range of supervisory duties for direct reports, including evaluating employee performance, and recruiting, maintaining, and developing staff consistent with business needs.

  • Perform additional duties as required.
