Airwallex is continuing to invest in our team as our talented and driven team is what allows us to sustain hypergrowth globally. We’re therefore looking to hire an Accountant to join our US Finance team and play a critical role in the financial reporting and tax compliance functions at Airwallex







This role will report to the Senior Finance Manager based in the US and will also work closely with other finance team members across all other Airwallex regions. The Accountant will work with both internal and external stakeholders to help ensure that the financial statements are prepared timely and in accordance with GAAP. The Accountant will also play a key role in building out various processes and procedures to help support the rapid growth of the company as we continue to expand our US and global operations




Responsibilities:




    • Ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with GAAP

    • Perform various month-end/year-end close duties, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements

    • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of internal controls around financial reporting

    • Assist in the annual financial statement audit with external auditors

    • Assist in preparation of financial statement analysis and communication of results to both internal and external stakeholders

    • Work with Airwallex team members to ensure compliance with corporate expense policies

    • Engage in process improvement initiatives to help automate/streamline various manual processes










What you bring:




    • A minimum of 2-3 years in public accounting (preferably Big 4)

    • 1-2 years in a high growth startup environment (preferred, but not required)

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads as needed

    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

    • Desire to learn and actively seek opportunities for improvement/growth

    • Drive for excellence, whether through your own growth or playing a role in the growth of your colleagues and Airwallex as a whole

    • Roll up your sleeves mentality. Everyone at Airwallex gets their hands dirty and works together to solve problems

    • Experience using Oracle, Concur, Blackline is a plus, but not required
