CGI Federal is looking to bring on a remote network engineer to support a contract for the Air Force. The NexGen IT application is comprised of three Application Modules: The Civil Engineering Data Foundations (CEDF), the Single Sign-On/System Authorization Access Request (SSO/SAAR) which automates the DoD 2875 process, and TRIRIGA. Your future duties and responsibilities:
  • Primary F5 point of contact for all issues
  • Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Create or edit F5 scripts
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

o 7 years experience in network engineering
o US citizen and an Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to receive
o DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
o A strong VMWare background
o Advanced knowledge of F5 and A10 Load Balancers
o Advanced level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IPbased
services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
o Network Engineers work closely with Business Analysts, Network Architects and IT
Managers. A Network Engineer job description can therefore comprise of:
o Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of
current networks
o Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy
servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
o Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
o Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
o Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
o Arranging scheduled upgrades
o Investigating faults in the network
o Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
o Reporting network status to key stakeholders
