Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Automation Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT

Reporting to the Automation Engineer the Automation Engineer, will be responsible for performs responsible for specifying, designing and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications.

What a typical day looks like:

Interface with factory ops to ensure automation is prioritized based on

needs/cost/ROI & quality and overall delivery performance.

Integrate system automation with shop-floor automation and MES/Flex Flow

Interface with Robotics, Machine builder and Integrator

Lead FAT and SAT and support future upgrades to automation

Build pre-commissioning and commissioning test procedures with fault logic


Develop equipment/automation training plan for line operators and technicians.

Participate in industry consortium meetings and bring advance automation ideas

Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment

Collaborates and offers input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.

Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.

Demonstrates and thorough understanding of customer requirements, offers suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Engineering degree in related field or equivalent experience and training

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with Automation and Controls

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

Robotics and Controls including programming of PLCs or IPCs

Skilled in using PLC programs, development using Python, C++, etc.

Planning and execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning of major
mechanical/plant equipment.
