JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Maintenance Manager provides support to plant manufacturing and site operations with necessary maintenance to all site equipment and facilities associated with the plant and warehouse. Ensures the support is provided 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week. Responsible for direct maintenance support of the operations to maintain and improve current manufacturing effectiveness. Oversees scheduling and calibration of all instrumentation. Responsible for the budget management for all repairs and spare part inventories and for adhering to all plant/divisional/corporate purchasing functions and policies. Responsible for the management of all site hazardous waste systems and adherence to all regulatory policies.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Supports existing plant operations while maintaining current and new technology. This includes assisting operations in meeting production schedules, minimizing unplanned operating downtime and process non-conformances, and controlling product destructs within goals.
  • Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety and human resources for all reporting departments.
  • Coaches, develops, and mentors employees in areas of responsibility. Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of employees. Conducts performance reviews; develops growth plans; interprets, implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs. Assigns projects/tasks to direct staff. Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of employees.
  • Assures financial performance goals are met (such as operating effectiveness, units per labor hour and material usage).
  • Tracks critical parameters, taking actions to improve, correct and reinforce where needed. This includes quality, safety and production rates. This includes identifying, analyzing and developing short term and long term solutions to equipment issues.
  • Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels. This includes assuring communications between affected reporting areas and to related departments. Responsible for establishing systems that would enhance intra- and inter-departmental communications.
Education

Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent.

Background:
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
  • Five years experience in Plant Maintenance, Manufacturing and Supervision and three years experience in project management required.
  • A high degree of technical expertise and Corporate/Division processes is required.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
Accountability:
  • Accountable for payroll and expenses of $5.6MM.
  • The position is accountable for product losses/schedules associated with equipment downtime; audit observations; and enforcing GMP and Safety regulations.
  • Also accountable for employee turnover rates, ensuring development/mentoring of reports, coaching employees and ensuring teamwork internally and externally.
  • This position is accountable for maintaining and complying with FDA , USDA , OSHA and Affirmative Action requirements.
  • Noncompliance or failure to meet the above could result in failure to meet customers\' demands, thus affecting Ross business.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper equipment/manpower utilization, good employee relations, a safe environment, quality products and profitability; ensuring all regulatory procedures are complied with and no major observations/violations are given.
