Job Description
  • Own & drive package interconnects test solution pathfinding projects, leveraging enabling components and methods through R&D or industry available techniques, from concept to prototype stages
  • Drive hardware products materialization in a multi-disciplined, distributed responsibility environment.
  • Perform finite element stress analysis and warpage simulations on interconnect components and system under loads.
  • Work with applications & design engineers in product development, design optimization through DFx & FMEA initiatives, mechanical and thermal solutions for package tests need.
  • Develop new simulation methods for next generations mechanical and thermal challenges.
  • Develop and standardize new analysis methods or tools to improve productivity, including but not limited to software programming and/or data automation scripts.
  • Conduct & run tests, including instrumentation, data collection and analysis, and correlation with analytical results.
  • Gather technical requirements and develop technical specifications, consolidating inputs from several customers and possibly other equipment teams within Advantest.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. MS degree is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in mechanical engineering
  • Proficient with 3D modeling CAD tools such as Solid
  • Demonstrated hands on experience with FEA & thermal simulation tools such as SolidWorks Flow, IcePak, etc.
  • Strong understanding of stress strain mechanics, heat transfer mechanics and related modulating factors
  • Demonstrated working experience in structural problem solving methods, and ability to recommend viable solutions
  • Effective & demonstrated verbal and written communication plus presentation skills
  • Customer service & result oriented approach is a must
  • Solid ability to independently drive committed schedules efficiently, and will escalate when deemed necessary
  • Well rounded mechanical engineer knowledgeable and/or experienced in fields below will be a plus
