General Summary:

As a Post Silicon CPU Validation Engineer, you will work with chip architects and designers to validate the concepts of CPU and SOC level micro-architecture. You will work on a the CPU design validation to ensure that it functions to the standards of being launch ready.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Work with CPU and SOC architects to understand concept and high level system requirements
  • Develop detailed test and coverage plans based on the architecture and micro-architecture
  • Develop validation methodology, ensuring scalable and portable environment
  • Develop validation environment, including all the respective components such as stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, coverage
  • Develop validation plans and test benches
  • Execute validation plans, including design bring-up, validation environment bring-up, and regression.
  • Work with designers and pre-silicon verification engineers to debug test failures
  • Track and report validation progress using a variety of metrics, including bugs identified and triaged and coverage
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master\'s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge in processor validation function and architecture, in areas such as cache coherence, memory ordering and consistency, prefetching, branch prediction, renaming, speculative execution, and memory translation
  • In-depth knowledge of processor function, architecture, and micro-architecture
  • Experience in writing test plans including directed and random test generators
  • Experience with many validation methodologies and tools such as emulation, debuggers, event counters and monitors.
  • Able to develop and work independently on an area of the CPU and SOC design
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently transports and install equipment up to 5 lbs.
  • Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g. standing or sitting).
  • Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
  • Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
