The Digital Paid Media Marketing Manager Position

Sunnova Energy is looking for an experienced and energetic digital marketing leader to continue the growth of our leaf generation efforts, help us expand our digital capabilities, enhance the digital customer journey, and drive sales for solar and other energy services. The Digital Paid Media Marketing Manager will work across multiple paid media platforms to implement, manage, measure, and optimize campaigns and initiatives that drive awareness, consideration, conversions (forms and calls), and sales for Sunnova, our dealer network and retail partners.

Reporting to the Director, Web and Digital Marketing, the candidate will be experienced in search engine marketing (SEM) and Pay-per-Click (PPC) (e.g., paid social, programmatic display, native and video) channels and will ensure we deliver optimal returns on ad spend (ROAS) and efficient lead costs. This candidate will leverage customer and intent data to optimize campaign performance, refine audience targeting, and deliver the ideal experience for prospects, leads, and existing customers. It will also lead several high-profile initiatives with the Sunnova Marketing and other cross-functional teams. The candidate will manage relationships with media agencies and vendors to drive high-profile campaigns supporting brand and lead growth.

Digital Paid Media Marketing Manager Responsibilities
  • Manages, reviews, and performs daily account responsibilities associated with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Programmatic networks, YouTube, and other digital marketing platforms.
  • Maintains and monitors keyword bids, account daily and monthly budget caps, impression share, quality score and important campaign metrics such as impressions, rankings, clicks, click-through rates (CTR), cost per click (CPC), conversions, cost per lead (CPL), cost per acquisition (CPA) and more.
  • Generates weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting, and tracks volume and revenue progress to goals.
  • Creates, monitors and administers platform dashboards, reports, and tools such as Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and more.
  • Oversees the design and structure of accounts, campaigns, ad groups/ad sets, and keywords. Manages keyword lists, creative, ad copy and graphical ad templates.
  • Manages data and insights to design and optimize multi-channel campaigns to drive new customer acquisition and upsell/cross-sell of the existing base.
  • Creates impactful campaigns to improve conversion rates from leads to sales. Measures and executes A/B split testing for ad copy and landing pages to ensure optimal campaign performance.
  • Manages ad copy, CRM audience, website re-marketing, contextual keyword and look-alike lists to qualify leads and deliver relevant messaging, content, and landing page experiences.
  • Works with internal teams to drive creative development and landing page creation, and ensures all assets are legally approved prior to campaign launch.
  • Manages a breadth of relationships with third-party vendors, coordination with internal teams, and day-to-day communication
  • Leads digital and non-digital media campaign execution with media agencies as required.
  • Creates data-driven and insightful executive presentations and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Maintains and shares project status updates in weekly team meetings.
  • Creates strategic POVs and implements new channels, tactics, and partnerships to drive lead growth

Minimum Requirements
  • Education required: Bachelor’s in marketing, business, or communications.
  • Minimum years of experience required: 10-15 years’ total experience ,7+ years of relevant work experience implementing and managing paid media campaigns.
  • Experience with performance marketing across self-serve paid digital, social, and programmatic channels.
  • Documented performance achieving growth targets consistently.
  • Expertise in data manipulation and analytics to drive storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Google Suite certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for a digital media or marketing agency with a focus on launching and scaling lead generation programs.
  • Experience creating strategy and managing execution for media campaigns across other formats including Connected TV/OTT, Out of Home, and Radio.
  • Other relevant industry certifications focused on media or data analytics.
  • Experience in the energy market, preferably with a publicly listed company.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of utilizing pixels, UTMs, conversion tracking and setting up Google Analytics goals.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools including Google Tag Manager, SEM Rush, Salesforce and more.
  • Strong ability to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic-driven, and entrepreneurial atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a strong ability to tailor information to different audiences.
  • Expertise structuring and leading meetings effectively.
  • Skilled in creative thinking, problem identification and resolution, and ability to scale acquisition channels.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate insights, learnings & actions plans.
  • Passion for growing and building innovative programs and campaigns, complemented by willingness to get his/her hands dirty and be actively involved in implementation & execution.
  • Ability to build trust, develop strong relationships, and lead through influence, execution & delivery.
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Comfortable with data analyses including database segmentation and web analytics.
  • Strong empathy for customers and passion for revenue and growth.
  • Strong business acumen and results oriented.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally.
