ERM is seeking a committed Senior EHS Consultant to join our Safety Services team in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Industrial Hygiene and Safety. An ideal candidate will be either a Certified Industrial Hygienist or a Certified Safety Professional.

The primary role will be serving full time at a high-tech R&D client. As a Senior EHS consultant, you will be working in a dynamic fast past environment, solving a diverse set of issues. In this role, you will provide technical assistance on health and safety compliance projects, safety oversight, risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and compliance assurance programs. Responsibilities:
Serve as an Industrial Hygienist and Safety professional on assigned projects and implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans. Specifically:
  • Analyze, identify, and measure workplace hazards or stresses that can cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort.
  • Plan and conduct quantitative industrial hygiene chemical exposure monitoring studies for clients in multiple industrial sectors including R&D, tech, biotech, manufacturing, and oil and gas.
  • Analyze and report on results of industrial hygiene studies including quantifying worker exposure to chemicals of concern and comparing to regulatory exposure limits.
  • Recommend practices to reduce employee exposure to hazards.
  • Ensure appropriate level of PPE is available and being used as required, as well as proper maintenance and sanitation of PPE.
  • Verify communication systems are in place.
  • Monitor conformance with safety and emergency procedures.
  • Review safety plans
  • Oversee that safety equipment is maintained and develop new safety programs in an R&D establishment.
  • Exercise the authority to stop work, which will be executed upon determination of an imminent safety hazard or potentially dangerous situation (e.g., weather conditions, where this action is necessary).
  • Conduct behavior-based safety observations
  • Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline. Or equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in industrial hygiene, safety related projects in an R&D, Biotech, High-tech, Aerospace or commercial setting.
  • Will require short duration travel within Seattle area with a single client.
  • CIH or CSP Certification highly desired.
  • Valid Driver\'s License.
