POSITION OVERVIEW

Section: Bureau of Oral Health Location: 8000 North Stadium Drive, 6th Floor
Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday (weekends and holidays as needed)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Dental Leadership- Manages dental clinic operations and recommends improvement changes in operational and administrative procedures, supplies, and equipment that would enhance patient care.
  • Management-Supervises dental staff performance providing coaching and disciplinary action according to policy as needed.
  • Direct Clinical Services- Performs professional chairside dental procedures and advises patients on preventive and restorative dental care
  • Quality Assurance-Monitors and maintains clinic productivity and efficiency assuring quality services rendered.
  • Outreach-Participates in community outreach programs, health fairs and other dental health programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires the ability to make closely coordinated eye/hand movements within very fine tolerance and/or calibration demands; or the ability to make rapid closely coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within somewhat fine tolerance demands; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements within fine tolerances with large equipment as an extension of the worker.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Doctoral degree in Dentistry from an accredited dental school.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of experience in chairside dentistry within the past five (5) years are required. Experience in administration/management is preferred.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
A valid license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas and a current annual registration certificate are required.

PREFERENCES

**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**

Experience in administration/management is preferred.

SALARY INFORMATION GENERAL FUND POSITION
Grants & Special funded positions are dependent upon continued available funds. If funding is no longer available, employee may be laid off or transferred. Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate\'s qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
