As a trusted advisor to Target, the Seasonal Category Manager is responsible for providing fact-based, insight-led, and actionable solutions resulting in total category growth for Targets Seasonal Confectionery business (Valentine\'s Easter, Halloween, Holiday and Micro-seasons). Focus areas for this role will span providing best in class recommendations regarding category assortment, merchandising, shelving, and promotion for Target to providing other strategic thought leadership to future-proof confectionery category growth as shopper habits continue to evolve. This associate must be excellent at building and maintaining strong relationships, as this position will be dependent on other internal cross functional team members and multiple Target stakeholders at the buying team level to be successful.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

2-4 years Category Management experience

1 year of business analytics experience

Analytical experience from situation assessment through solutions with tangible results leveraging syndicated data resources (VIQ, IRI or Nielsen; Scan, Panel, Spectra, etc.)

Highly proficient in MS Office and other technical applications (JDA, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)

Advanced interpersonal skills

Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience In Sales or Category Management

2+ years business analytics experience

Advanced Degree- MBA

Target Category Captaincy experience

Shopper data, market research and project management experience

Knowledge and experience within Seasonal and/or Digital Commerce

What would be your key responsibilities?

Co-Lead Seasonal Captaincies (Promotions)

Category AMPS Performance & Recommendations

Confectionery POG Analysis & Recommendations, inclusive of evaluating assortment opportunities within Target and the general market, performing space to sales analyses, recommending best in class shelving strategies based on internal and customer insights

Project Leadership & Support, Including Test & Learn Analytics

Competitive Market Analysis

Ad Hoc and Ongoing Data Management, Reporting and Presentation Building

Leverage broad category insights and resources, market research findings, tools, analyses, and technology to continually bring new shopper-focused ideas for Target\'s seasonal business with incorporation into category initiatives which will drive tangible results.

Utilize deep knowledge of the category, consumers, and our customers to support the development of Target\'s 1-3yr strategic category plans, prioritizing projects based on viability and incremental value each initiative will drive for the category.

Support Target’s strategy by implementing tests at retail, analyzing results, creating insight-based/actionable stories and presenting to the customer

Multi-level and cross-functional partnerships are critical to the success of this role. Develop and maintain close partnerships with key internal and customer stakeholders, building the trust and credibility which will earn our category team a continuous “seat at the table” for strategic discussions and decisions regarding our categories.

Partner closely with Category Leadership Strategy Team to develop, implement and communicate robust shopper learning agendas which compliment both Target’s overall strategic initiatives and our confectionery aisle category growth initiatives.
