Position Summary:

This is an opportunity for someone looking to get entry-level experience and exposure to all aspects of a Human Resources department. This position is responsible for providing quality human resources services in support of the human resources management and team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answers employee questions and refers to appropriate person for proper handling. Assists directly with routine inquiries
  • Supports Human Resources to ensure timely communication of events, announcements, and processes/procedures
  • Responds to employee requests and concerns to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Works with Human Resources department on special projects as required, supporting the achievement of company and department goals
  • Produces reports (i.e., special, financial, recruiting) for department or management use, as requested
  • Supports benefits in pulling and creating billing reports, submitting them for approval
  • Administer COBRA process ensuring compliance
  • Creates letters and payroll documentation for employee changes
  • Orientate new employees on payroll and training systems
  • Complete employment verification forms
  • Complete I-9 documentation
  • Perform payroll/data audits
Record Maintenance:
  • Supports HR Business Partners by maintaining current HR files in Paycom and Egnyte
  • Supports payroll by ensuring vacation and sick time are tracked in Paycom
  • Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status and similar records
  • Maintaining Compliance Wire user access
  • Timely entry of new hires into system and updates of employee information
  • Completing termination paperwork and assisting with scheduling exit interviews
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma and 2-4 years administrative support experience; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Experience working in a human resources department and an Associates Degree in Business preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the systems, products and services of the company.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and email application.
  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, I-9/Immigration and other regulations to ensure company’s compliance to federal and state law.
  • Skill of determining alternatives that would correct a situation.
  • Interpersonal skills such as the ability to respond with sensitivity and a sense of urgency to employee requests and needs.
  • Skill in basic match to perform simple equations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
  • Skill in making oral presentations that are clear, concise and easy to understand.
  • Skill in planning such as identifying and organizing action steps to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively.
  • Ability to be flexible by adapting decisions or actions to facilitate the most productive work environment.
  • Ability to complete a variety of tasks independently and efficiently in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Ability to listen accurately to the needs of employees.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively within the department to reach mutual goals.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
