Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates Client Development operations by providing exceptional project coordination, project management and lead on key aspects of sales opportunities
  • Works in tandem with the Sales team (Client Development Director and VP, CD) to support sales opportunities, consultant and prospect development and outreach, data management, RFP completion, and coordination of meetings, event planning and other activities necessary to achieve Client Development business goals
Project Coordination
  • Leads the planning and coordination of meetings and events, working cross-functionally and across the organization as necessary. Principally responsible for determining meeting requirements and independently executing on those needs
  • Gather and disseminate information appropriately across business segments as needed for RFP coordination, finalist meeting preparation, consultant briefing/event preparation, and other CD events
  • In collaboration with Sales Vice President and Client Development Director, develop agendas, slide or other media presentations. Determine any material requirements and take responsibility to ensure relevance for the specific opportunity
  • Facilitate communications critical to the sales process through timely communications to internal and external constituents. SSCs are key direct contacts with external constituents (most notably, consultants engaged on sales opportunities)
  • In conjunction with Marketing Director, follow up with assigned owners of tasks to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Lead the reference gathering process critical to RFPs, including decisions and judgment with regard to the relevance of potential client references, interface with Client Executives
  • Assure that follow up requests are channeled to the right internal business partner so that responses can be provided on a timely basis
Data Management
  • Take leadership on critical documentation in client development CRM system
  • Assure timely and accurate entry of account, consultant, membership opportunity and activity data in MERIT, making decisions as to documentation requirements and pursuing what is necessary to inform strategy planning and sales execution.
  • Conduct research on prospects and consultants, used to develop strategy for specific opportunities and to enhance consultant relationships based on their priorities and experience with UHC
  • Correct identified data errors and update/pursue missing information through a variety of data sources (e.g., Hoover’s, prospect web sites, FreeErisa.com, OneSource, judydiamond.com) to assure thorough documentation
  • Research internal product, operational or policy questions/issues as necessary, to assure that the most current, accurate information is being conveyed to external constituents
  • Utilize and Navigate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) /Sales Management systems, particular for report generation, sales tracking, data entry
  • Serve as reporting backup to Client Development team Senior Report Analyst
  • Enter consultant UDS data into Merit for NA cases as reported to us
Collaborative Ventures Group (CVG) Responsibilities
  • Extract weekly reports of renewals and new business. Use Key Account CRM system as necessary in addition to NA CRM
  • Extract contact lists for external email/communications distributions. Monitor bounce backs and pursue corrections
  • Extract pipeline reports for CVG
  • Quarterly review of Private Equity firm companies. Validate with online searches and other research. Update CRM system as necessary
  • Ensure that Key Account CRM system is also updated for CVG companies
Administrative
  • Independently execute on appropriate tasks to support the sales process, consultant relationship development and other objectives as necessary such as: building the Strategy memo for sales opportunities; ensuring adherence to proposal timelines by RFP core response team; serving as “go to” resource for internal and external partners; organizing finalist resources
  • Active participation in various internal work groups to bring expertise to company initiatives and/or system enhancements
RFP support for select Exchange relationships
  • For certain Exchanges in which UHC is a participating carrier, there is no Marketing Director assigned. In these scenarios, the SSC has primary responsibility as the point of contact between UHC and the exchange operator on behalf of the Sales VP
  • The SSC works directly with enterprise partners and determines independently who must be engaged
  • The SSC corresponds and responds to exchange operator inquiries
  • Prepare Strategy memo for SVP use in strategy call
  • Be knowledgeable about the status of issues related to potential customers
  • Seek quick resolution and answers
  • Coordinate consultant communications, as necessary
Internal Relationship Development
  • Develop collegial relationships with internal partners to maximize productivity of resources, improve quality of output, and evolve tools and products to ensure that best in class is delivered to the marketplace
This is a complex, fast-paced, matrixed environment with a lot of moving parts. The challenge is in developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. You’ll be expected to interpret and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources and use it to tell a meaningful story.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree OR at least 3 years of independent project management experience in a matrixed organizational environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • 1+ years of experience with customer relationship management/sales management tools, particularly in areas of report generation and data manipulation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to organize, manage, and control multiple projects concurrently and prioritize demands
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a coordinated team
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to cultivate internal and external relationships

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $26.15 to $46.63. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $28.85 to $51.30.
